WHY the Tree of Life?

Home » WHY the Tree of Life?

BECAUSE its diagram (whether in the East or the West) is infused with the entirety of the Wisdom Teachings. As such, it serves as a map to consciousness.

Placed on the exact same 7 rungs as the 7 wheels (the “chakras” in Sanskrit), the 10 Numbered Spheres (the “Sephiroth” in Hebrew) are linked to the alphabet, the 10th letter, number and sound being akin to the 1st (10=1+0=1).

Number 0 is the sphere over the black w/hole. It is where ego disappears and where all memories, past and future, are written. Set in between the throat and the 3rd eye, it is bound to be the mouth. This “bond” is in Aditi, the name in Sanskrit of the goddess of “boundless” creativity. It is also present in S/Hebrew Daath for “knowledge,” the Hebrew name for this sphere. Being here and not here (as Self-knowledge is), it is the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the final step into the mystery of sex, since good and evil are male (positive current), and female (negative current). This tree is thus an invitation to know first a little death, and then a big death (when the ego is no more).

“Out of the ground the LOVE God grew every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food, and in the midst of the garden, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” (Gen. 2:9).

There’s a couple of movies on that subject I may enjoy watching:
