What is a global cosmology?

Home » What is a global cosmology?

Cosmology: an account and/or science of the origin of the universe – its parts, elements and laws,
and especially with such of its characteristics as space, time, causality and freedom.

Imagine observing a global cosmology catalyzing “religious” beliefs, and having a universal structure that could educe what it means to be human… What would change?

All cultures use creation myths to attempt to answer the questions we all have on the origin of the Universe: what is real? What should I do? What is my purpose? Who am I? Surprisingly the Bible has two stories of creation featuring two Adams:

  • The first one thinks I can (Gen. 1).
  • The second one cannot think straight (Gen. 2).

The question “who am I?” may just be the ultimate question, since answering it is also demystifying the “God” label. There’s a movie on that subject I may enjoy watching | here (WHY can’t I be your type?)

Speaking of movies… Young Stephen Hawking meets Jane, his wife-to-be, and introduces himself as a cosmologist. “What’s cosmology?” she asks. He replies “the religion for intelligent atheists.” “What do cosmologists worship?” she persists. “A single unifying equation that explains everything in the universe.” From the movie A Theory of Everything
